I never expected public speaking to become part of my life, but sometimes the stories we never planned to tell are the ones that need to be heard.

I speak openly and from lived experience. There are serious and difficult parts, but there is also warmth, humour and a strong message that life can get better.

I speak at conferences, workplaces, professional development and community events, as well as on panels and podcasts. I talk about women’s health, mental health, the impact on families and workplaces, and what can happen when people really listen.

Every audience is different, so I’m always happy to tailor what I share.

From Psych Ward to MHT

The story I never imagined I would tell.

My signature talk is a very personal account of becoming seriously unwell, searching for answers and eventually beginning to understand the role perimenopause had played in what happened to me.

It is a story about mental health, women’s health, family, being heard and finding your way back when life has changed completely.

Most of all, it is a story about recovery and finding yourself again.

Women’s Health, Perimenopause & Mental Health

We need to be talking about this.

Perimenopause can look very different from one woman to the next, and for some women, changes to their mental health can be significant.

I use my own experience to open up conversations about what can so easily be missed, and why listening to women when they say something has changed really matters.

This talk can be tailored for health professionals, workplaces and community audiences.

Mental Health Through the Eyes of Lived Experience

There is a person behind every diagnosis.

What is it actually like to experience a mental health crisis, receive psychiatric care and then try to find your way back into everyday life?

I share my experience from the other side of the healthcare system, including the impact on my family and some of the things I wish had been understood at the time.

It’s not a clinical presentation. It’s a very human one.

When Someone at Work Stops Being Themselves

Would you notice if someone in your workplace was no longer themselves?

I know what it is like to go from being capable, busy and engaged to suddenly struggling to manage the things that had always come naturally.

This talk brings together my experience of women’s health and mental health with some of the questions workplaces need to be asking.

Do we notice when someone changes? Do we know how to have that conversation? And what does genuine support actually look like?

Workplaces don’t need to have all the answers. Sometimes making a difference starts with noticing, asking and genuinely listening.

Connection Can Change Lives

We all need to know that we matter.

After more than 20 years working with people and communities, I’ve seen what can happen when people who might never normally cross paths are given the chance to connect.

Through stories of intergenerational connection, I talk about belonging, loneliness, purpose and what happens when people feel they have something to contribute.

Sometimes the smallest connection can make a much bigger difference than we realise.
